Inspired by the art of Edgar Degas, this statue portrays a young student of the Paris Opera Ballet dance school, Marie van Goethem. Draped in a real bodice, tutu and ballet slippers, She is standing with her arms taut and the legs are quite twisted round. Her face is contorted which shows tension as if she is made to do something she doesn't really want to do. Made of quality cold cast resin, this statue features a bronze luster.

I love this statue....a little smaller than expected but it's for a 7 year old "dancer"'s birthday so it should be fine! It will be accompanied by the "Little Dancer Aged Fourteen" book, and a child's version as well. She is part of a Dance Academy that her older sister also went to, and her mother is very involved with....it will be perfect!
